ECoR : Hon’ble President of India to dedicate rail projects worth over Rs 732 crore today

Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu will dedicate two multi-tracking railway projects worth over Rs 732 crore, today at Rairangpur in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.

The projects are

Jakhapura – Jajpur Keonjhar Road – Baitarani Road multi-tracking and

Hindol Road – Meramandali multi-tracking

Jakhapura – Jajpur Keonjhar Road – Baitarani Road multi-tracking


This 19-km project, completed at a cost of Rs 323 crore is a part of Bhadrak – Nergundi multi-tracking project. This project will augment capacity on the high density Howrah–Chennai main line, reduce congestion, improve punctuality and ensure faster movement of passenger and freight trains.

The project will also facilitate transportation of coal and other bulk commodities, providing logistical support to nearby ports, industries and commercial centres.

Hindol Road – Meramandali multi-tracking


This 27-km project, completed at a cost of Rs 409 crore forms part of the Budhapank – Salegaon multi-tracking project. The project will improve train handling capacity, remove operational bottlenecks and enable smooth movement of coal, steel, power-sector inputs and other industrial commodities.
