To expand their vendor base and provide a fillip to Make in India, zones across Indian Railways are organising exhibitions of equipments in their respective divisions displaying critical compenents and safety tools.
For instance Western Railway has organised exhibitions of items related to Coaching, Wagon, Signalling, Telecommunications and Track at its divisions as follows:-
- Ratlam Division held the exhibition on January 7, 2021 from 11 am onwards at Railway Officers Club, Ratlam.
● Bhavnagar Division held the exhibition on January 8, 2021 from 11 am onwards near Railway Museum opposite DRM Office, Bhavnagar.
● Rajkot Division held the exhibition on January 9, 2021 from 11 am onwards at Railway Officers Club, Rajkot.
● Mumbai Central Division will hold the exhibition on January 11, 2021 from 11 am onwards at Gunj Hall, DRM Officer, Mumbai Central.
● Ahmedabad Division will hold the exhibition on January 12, 2021 from 11 am onwards at DRM Office, Ahmedabad.
● Vadodara Division will hold the exhibition on January 13, 2021 from 11 am onwards at Electric Loco Shed, Vadodara.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) holds exhibitions
NFR has been holding various exhibitions in locations like Rangiya, New Bongaigaon (Rangiya division), at Alipurduar Jn (Alipurduar division), at Tinsukia (Tinsukia division) and Katihar (Katihar division).
NFR expects to expand its vendor base by empanelling local SMEs for the supply of tools and equipment
Displays of about 50 items (selected RDSO items with low vendor base) were kept at the exhibition venues for guidance and information of the prospective local vendors. Prospective vendors were guided about the technical specification of the items and process of registration with RDSO.
