As a part of continuous thrive of Eastern Railway towards seamless freight operations, an enhanced provision of illumination has recently been made at Malda Goods Shed to facilitate easy loading and unloading of freight rakes even during night. This new illumination work will make it more convenient for customers, staff and other stake holders to unload & clear inward rake or loading freight into outward rake on 24×7 basis.
Presently at Malda Goods Shed 25 to 30 freight rakes are being unloaded per month on an average. The augmented illumination will facilitate enhanced freight traffic at Malda, which can be availed by the business community and freight service customers. It will be helpful to labourers and loaders for round the clock operation at the goods shed.
