Hyderabad Metro: JBS-MGBS Green Line Gets CMRS Approval

The Green Line of the Hyderabad Metro has received approval from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety after an inspection was conducted as reported earlier.

The line runs between Jubilee Bus Station, Secunderabad and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station, Hyderabad and underwent an inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety between the 9th and 11th of this month. The CMRS has certified this section fit for passenger operations.

The HMRL along the state government will decide the appropriate date to inaugurate the section for public usage. The date is likely to be announced only after the 22nd of this month when the local municipal elections are due to take place, and hence there is a model code of conduct in place.

The CMRS Shri J K Garg has given a green signal for the section with a few suggestions for minor correction with respect to operational aspects and passenger announcement and amenity services.

These changes, however, have no bearing on passenger operational safety. The HMRL is expected to implement these minor changes well within the date for inauguration.
