Indian Railways Oxygen Express heads to Lucknow with 46 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen

In order to meet the growing demand of Oxygen, Indian Railways has started running Oxygen Express Trains to ensure quick transportation and smooth supply of Oxygen. The transportation of Liquid Medical Oxygen is being done through Roll On Roll Off (RO RO) service with road tankers placed on Flat Wagons of Railways. 

Accordingly to meet the requirements of Medical Oxygen in Uttar Pradesh, an Oxygen Express train with 3 empty oxygen tankers left Lucknow and arrived at Bokaro Steel City. The train was then moved to Diesel Loco Shed, Bokaro where the empty road tankers were unloaded and taken to Bokaro Steel Plant for filling up of Liquid Medical Oxygen. 

After loading of total 46.34 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen at Bokaro Steel Plant, the 3 tankers were re-loaded in wagons of Oxygen Express train which left Bokaro station today afternoon on its way to Lucknow on top priority. 

All necessary arrangements were made at Bokaro Steel City station and Diesel Loco Shed by the Railway employees working round the clock to facilitate unloading /loading of the tankers. South Eastern Railway is maintaining uninterrupted supply of essential commodities and providing support for medical emergencies during this crisis period.
