IR fills up nine GM level positions

Indian Railways (IR) has filled up nine General Manager (GM) level posts on Friday.

This follows the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet to IR’s proposal regarding the appointments.

These include GMs for seven zonal railways, one production unit and a Director General of IR’s  research arm, RDSO – Research Design and Standards Organisation.

The incumbents are as follows:-

  1. Arun Arora IRSME, as GM Eastern Railway, Fairlie Place Kolkata
  2. Pramod Kumar IRSEE, as GM North Central Railway, Prayagraj
  3. A.K. Agarwal IRSME,  as GM Integral Coach Factory, Chennai
  4. Sanjeev Kishore IRSME, as GM South Western Railway, Hubballi
  5. Anil K. Lahoti IRSE, as GM Central Railway, CSMT Mumbai
  6. Archana Joshi IRTS, as GM South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata
  7. A. Sharma IRSME, as GM East Central Railway Hajipur
  8. Sanjiv Bhutani IRSEE, as Director General, RDSO, Manak Nagar, Lucknow
  9. Alok Kumar IRSME, as GM South East Central Railway, Bilaspur

  1. It is good that the Heads of the zonal Railways are filled up. Keeping these posts vacant for longer period will tell upon the functioning and efficiency.
