Private train operators could soon become commonplace over the Indian Railways (IR) network.
IR plans to run trains operated by private firms in 103 routes with 156 rakes. The list of the sectors/rakes is given below in an easy to view table.

These sectors have been further split into 12 clusters- 4 clusters for Mumbai region, 3 for Delhi- and one each for Patna, Guwahati, Chennai, Secunderabad and Howrah.
These operators are likely to run 16 -coach trains along these high-density routes and tap unfulfilled demand for a 35-year concession period.
