IR to extend push pull locomotives across several zones

Indian Railways (IR) has decided to implement push pull modifications in one set of WAP-5 and WAP-7 locomotives across several of its zones.

This follows a letter from the Research Development and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow requesting Principal Chief Electrical Engineers (PCEE) of selective zonal railways namely CR, SCR, SR, WR,WCR, ER, SECR, SER and ECR  to implement push pull modifications at Electric Locomotive Sheds  under their jurisdictions.

According to sources, the sheds are Ajni (CR), Lallaguda (SCR), Bhilai (SECR), Kalyan (CR), Vadodara (WR), Tughlakabad (WCR), Ghaziabad (NR), Howrah (ER), Royapuram (SR), Tatanagar (SER) and Gomoh (ECR). The Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer/Traction Rolling Stock (Sr.DEE/TRS) of these loco sheds have been given the responsibility for implementation .
