The Central Organization for Railway Electrification (CORE) issued a Letter of Acceptance to Larsen & Toubro Limited on 10th January 2020 for the bid for electrification of 985 route km or 1,137 track km of railway lines in Southern India under the EPC model.
The routes to be electrified under the contract are in Southern Railway territory and fall under the Chennai office. The contract is for a total price of Rs. 587.53 crores.

- Salem-Vriddhachalam-Cuddalore Port
- Dindigul-Palghat (Palakkad)
- Pollachi-Podanur
- Shoranur-Nilambur
- Sengottai-Tenkasi-Tirunelveli-Tiruchendur
- Virudunagar-Tenkasi
- Tiructichirapalli-Manamadurai-Virudhunagar
The work is to be executed within 900 days from the ‘Appointed Date’ as specified by CORE.
