Multi Disciplinary Zonal Training Institute, Dharwad of South Western Railway has achieved an important recognition of ISO 9001-2015 Certification on 19.11.2021 and the Certificate was handed over to Principal Saira Nasreen by Principal Chief Operations Manager of South Western Railway Hari Shankar Verma on 25.11.2021.
It is a young Institute compared to other zonal training institutes of Indian Railways. It became functional from June 2011 and catering the Training needs of South Western Railway Employees, focusing on Imparting Training to Safety, Frontline and other categories of Railway Staff. It is located in clean and green campus of 26 acres in the heart of Dharwad town.
On an average 1500 employees are trained at MDZTI, Dharwad every year. The youth who have been selected to Railway services will get shaped up here to take up the jobs like, Station Masters, Guards, Track Machine Operators, Ticket Checking staff, Junior Engineers etc. The serving employees will also undergo Refresher Courses periodically for updating their working knowledge in their respective fields.
Employees of Private sidings and Public Sector Units associated with Railway Transportation are also trained here on operating and safety rules. This Institute has the vision of developing courses for all categories in their respective domain for all Railwaymen. It is first of its kind among all other Training Institutes of South Western Railway.
