New Gudur – Vijayawada Intercity from 25th August (Update: Introduction postponed)

Vice President to flag off the new service on 25th of August

A new Intercity Express between Gudur and Vijayawada will be flagged off by the Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu, on Sunday, the 25th of August 2019. Piyush Goyal, Minister for Railways and Suresh Angadi, Minister of State for Railways will also be present.

The service will run with a new LHB rake.

The 12743/44 Gudur-Vijayawada-Gudur Intercity will run daily with the following schedule:

The train will stop at Nellore, Kavali, Singarayakonda, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla and Tenali stations enroute.

Special Inaugural Run on 25th

On 25th August, the day of the inaugural run from Gudur, the train will run as a special service, numbered 02743, and will leave Gudur for Vijayawada at 10:30 hrs. It will reach Vijayawada at 15:35 hrs, according to a press release by South Central Railway.

On the return trip, 02744 will leave Vijayawada on the regular service schedule of 18:00 hrs and reach Gudur at 22:30 hrs.

Update 1: The inauguration and flag off has been postponed to a yet undecided date due to technical reasons as revealed in an SCR press release. We assume it is due to the non availability of the Hon’ble Vice President, Railway Minister and other dignitaries and as a mark of respect to the departed Former Finance Minister Late Arun Jaitley.
