
Northeast Frontier Railway’s (NFR) total installed solar capacity as of February 2026, touched 31.89 MWp. During the present fiscal 2025-26, NFR installed 22.734 MWp capacity, a statement said.
Among NFR’sdivisions, Lumding (including Guwahati portion) recorded the highest cumulative installation of 13.334 MWp, followed by Rangiya division with 8.941 MWp.

Until February 2026 during the current fiscal 2025–26 average monthly solar energy generation stood at about 9.18 lakh units, leading to an average monthly financial saving of about Rs 68.80 lakh.
Moreover, NFR currently has 19.14 MWp of additional solar capacity under various stages of implementation across divisions. Major upcoming installations are planned in Lumding, Rangiya, Katihar and Alipurduar divisions.
This will significantly enhance the overall renewable energy capacity in the near future ensuring long-term economic benefits through reduced energy costs.
