The Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today flagged off the Jabalpur-Chanda Fort Special train along with several other projects today.
Train no. 02274 Jabalpur-Chanda Fort Express Tri-weekly Special train will depart from Jabalpur at 05.15 hrs and reach Chandafort at 13.45 hrs. It will run thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Train no. 02273 Chanda Fort- Jabalpur Express Tri-weekly Special train will start from Chanda Fort at 14.50 hrs and reach Jabalpur at 23.25 hrs. It shall run on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Coach composition for the train is 1 AC Chair Car coach, 1 Sleeper coach, 8 Non AC Chair Car coaches & 2 SLR Coaches. The train will stop at Madan Mahal, Nainpur, Balaghat, Gondia stations en route in both directions.
Minister Goyal, speaking at the occasion, said that railway projects underway in Madhya Pradesh have to be sped up to benefit passenger and industry.

Doubling of Satna-Kaima section (6 Kms):
Goyal inaugurated doubling work of Satna- Kaima section (06 Kms). The Satna- Kaima doubling project was completed at a cost of 30 crores and is part of the Satna-Rewa doubling project.
Improved Passenger amenities at Shivpuri station on Guna-Gwalior route:
Various passenger amenities at Shivpuri station like beautification of the station, new waiting room, improved platform surface, modernisation of to create a green station and GRP room were inaugurated at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crores.
Improved Passenger amenities at Sant Hirdaram Nagar Station under Bhopal Division:
Work of Foot Overbridge at Sant Hirdaram Nagar station under Bhopal Division, expansion of cover over shed at the platform, improved platform surface and coach guidance system was inaugurated at a cost of Rs. 2 crores.
New Goods shed at Sorai Station on Bhopal-Bina route:
A new goods shed at Sorai Station was inaugurated. It was built at a cost of Rs. 18 crores on the Bhopal-Bina route and will serve Vidisha.
New Foot Overbridge at Karakbel station on Itarsi-Jabalpur route:
A new foot over bridge at Karakbel station on the Itarsi-Jabalpur route was inaugurated.
