IR completes recruitment process for 85k new employees

Indian Railways (IR) has provided panels of about 73,500 candidates as on November 14, 2019 to railway zones which indented vacant posts for Group C employees  (supervisory and clerical cadre).

This is against the two common employment notifications (CENs) which were a part of the three CENs for about 1.41 lakh Group C vacancies issued in 2018, said Piyush Goyal, Railway Minister in Parliament.

Further, in 2019, another four CENs for around 1.43 lakh additional vacancies were notified. Recruitment for one CEN is completed and, as on November 14, 2019, panels of 1519 candidates have been furnished to indenting railway zones. Recruitment process for the remaining CENs is on.

Further, for about 10,000 vacancies of sub-inspectors and constables in Railway Protection Force (RPF)/ Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), three CENs were issued in 2018 and recruitment completed.
