
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance from East Coast Railway for the provision of Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters MSDAC across the Machapur–Khurda Road Junction Automatic Block Signalling section and key stations of Khurda Road Division in Odisha.
The project, valued at approximately ₹161.02 crore, includes the integration and alteration of existing Electronic Interlocking systems and is scheduled for completion within 18 months.
Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters are advanced train-detection systems that accurately determine whether a railway track section is occupied or clear. Their integration with Electronic Interlocking systems will strengthen the reliability of train detection and signalling, thereby contributing to safer, more reliable and efficient railway operations.
