Saharsa station gets three more platforms

Saharsa Jn in Samastipur division of East Central Railway (a zone which serves the states of UP, Bihar and Jharkhand) now has three more platforms and three more lines to receive and dispatch trains.

This follows the successful completion of yard re-modelling and implementation of electronic interlocking (signalling) works at the station.

With this, the number of platforms at Saharsa Jn. have increased from two to five and the number of lines from four to seven.

A statement from East Central Railway said that the extension of the Patna-Bandra Humsafar to Saharsa will be done shortly. This train will provide connectivity to the people of Kosi region in North Bihar to Mumbai and Gujarat.
