Second Oxygen Express heads to Lucknow from Bokaro Steel City

The second Oxygen Express Train of South Eastern Railway carrying 46.48 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 4 tankers has left Bokaro Steel City today afternoon (25.04.2021) on its way to Lucknow. The Oxygen Express train with the 4 empty tankers arrived Bokaro Steel City Station yesterday night and the tankers were then taken to Bokaro Steel Plant for filling up of Liquid Medical Oxygen. The train with the four tankers containing 46.48 tonnes of Oxygen is being run on top priority.

The first Oxygen Express Train of South Eastern Railway was also run from Bokaro Steel City to Lucknow on 23.04.2021. The third rake with five empty tankers has also arrived today at Bokaro Steel City.

All necessary arrangements were made at Bokaro Steel City station and Diesel Loco Shed by the Railway employees working round the clock to facilitate unloading/loading of the tankers. In order to meet the growing demand of Medical Oxygen for treatment of Covid affected patients, Indian Railway has started running Oxygen Express Trains to ensure quick transportation and smooth supply of Oxygen. The transportation of Liquid Medical Oxygen is being done through Roll On Roll Off (RO RO) service with road tankers placed on Flat Wagons of Railways. Already 150 tonnes of oxygen have been delivered at destination stations by train and many trains are in the pipeline.
