UPDATE: Line towards Gwalior has been cleared at around 10:40 hrs, according to information from NCR.
A goods train derailed at Birlanagar, the next station from Gwalior towards Agra Cantonment, throwing traffic out of gear in the early hours of Friday. The derailed wagons of the goods train had blocked both lines.
The derailment also resulted in a near miss for the passengers of Shan-e-Bhopal express, whose locomotive hit the derailed wagons at a slow speed and was damaged, according to a report by Times Now Digital. However, no injuries to passengers have been reported by North Central Railway (NCR).
The line has been cleared for traffic at 08:05 hours according to an NCR statement.
