Southern Railway: CRS to inspect Manamadurai – Ramanathapuram electrified railway line and the new Andipatti – Theni BG line

Electrification work has been carried out on the 107 km stretch railway line between Madurai and Ramanathapuram. The electrification work on the 47 km Madurai – Manamadurai railway line was already completed and inspected by the Commissioner of Railway Safety last December. The electrification work for the 60 km stretch between Manamadurai – Ramanathapuram has also been completed now. The new Manamadurai-Ramanathapuram electrified line will be inspected by Bangalore Southern Circle Commissioner of Railway Safety Abhai Kumar Rai on January 30.

After the inspection, a speed trial will be conducted between Ramanathapuram and Manamadurai between 14.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs on 30th January, 2022.

The Madurai-Bodinaickanur Meter Gauge section has been converted as Broad gauge. In this section, the 58 km stretch between Madurai – Andipatti has already been converted as Broad Gauge and CRS inspection is also over. In the section, Now the 17 km Andipatti – Teni section is ready and Shri Abhai Kumar Rai, Commissioner of Railway Safety will conduct statutory inspection in this new section on January 31. After the inspection, CRS will conduct speed trial between Teni and Andipatti from 14.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs on 31stJanuary, 2022.
