Railway Board has permitted running of the following MEMU/DEMU (Mainline Electrical Multiple Units/Diesel Electrical Multiple Units) Special trains starting mid-March.
These trains will have unreserved seating with Mail/Express fares. Details of services in the table below:

Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Thiruvarur, Karaikal, Nagapattinam sections are missing in this MEMU local passenger services list. Each & every location in any railway division requires Local Passenger services as a very basic facility. Already these locations people are suffering without any Passenger services. Students have to travel by train to reach their colleges. Southern Railway Trichy Division needs to resume MEMU Services immediately.
