Stabling Lines at Nagpur Get Wired Up, Diesel Loco Use, Yard Movements Minimized

In order to minimize diesel loco usage and shunting movements in the congested Nagpur yard, pit lines meant for cleaning ICF rakes have been electrified.

Loco trial for the pit lines was completed on 1st October 2020. With this, usage of diesel locomotives for shunting rakes from the pit lines to the platform will be minimized or eliminated. An electric loco allotted for the journey can now directly attach to a train stabled in the pit line and move it to its allocated platform.
