SWR announces Covid measures for passengers coming from Maharashtra and Kerala

With regard to Special Surveillance Measures (of Govt. of Karnataka) for arrivals from Kerala and Maharashtra, for passengers arriving by trains:a) SWR has re-iterated the orders contained in government of Karnataka Circular dated 31.07.2021, that only passengers with negative RTPCR certificate not older than 72 hrs prior to boarding, shall board the trains ( from Maharashtra, Kerala)- irrespective of vaccination status.b) 

General Manager Sanjeev Kishore has re-iterated these instructions to the General Managers of adjacent zones i.e., Southern Railway, South Central Railway, Central Railway & Western Railway (Kerala, Maharashtra state jurisdictions co – inside with these railway zones) to allow passengers with negative RTPCR certificate only to board the trains and instruct officials concerned and TTE to check the same, prior to boarding.c) 

The GM has assured that SWR will extend its fullest cooperation to State Government at all levels to prevent the spread of Covid -19.d) Further he has requested State Government to make arrangements (as was done during 1st wave of Covid -19) at railway stations, to test the upcoming passengers.

Divisions have been instructed to put in place, measures to check passengers and hand over those that do not possess RTPCR Negative Certificate (not more than 72 hrs prior to Boarding) to authorities of State Government Health Department for further action (testing/quarantine etc).
