Vande Bharat Express: New Delhi – Vaishno Devi Katra Route Trials Soon

The second service of the Vande Bharat Express is likely to be introduced on between New Delhi and Katra for catering to pilgrims visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine.

The Railway Board has asked Northern Railway (NR) to arrange for a trial run of the Vande Bharat express between New Delhi and Katra. The first Vande Bharat Express was started between New Delhi and Varanasi and utilises the ICF produced prototype Train-18 trainset. The service between New Delhi and Katra is also expected to be run with a Train-18 rake.

This is the second trial run of this rake on this route. The train is likely to leave New Delhi at 6 am and reach Katra at 2 pm. In its return leg, the train will leave Katra and 3 pm and reach New Delhi at 11 pm.

The train has been allowed a maximum speed of 130 kmph on the New Delhi-Ludhiana – NewDelhi leg of the journey in both directions.

  1. Really fantastic. However all the trains must be speeded up. The main reason for delay is train enterance and exii which takes longer time. This has to be solved.
