WR Mumbai Division commissions new sorting line at Valsad yard

Western Railway’s Mumbai Division has successfully commissioned sorting line number 3 (525 m in length) at Valsad Yard. This has been done along with extension of bridge number 329 (Span: 1 × 9.15 m ) required to accommodate the line under PH-16 works (Railway Budget Plan Head -16 meant for traffic facilities augmentation). Track has been given fit for operational use said WR in a statement.

The newly commissioned sorting line will help to reduce congestion in Valsad Yard, expedite shunting operations and facilitate quicker formation of rakes for originating trains. This will enhance operational efficiency and improve yard handling capacity at Valsad.
