WR Pays Tributes 7/11 TRAIN Bomb Blast Victims

14 years ago, on 11th July, 2006, in a dastardly act of cowardice, bombs were exploded in the first class coaches of seven suburban trains near Matunga Road, Mahim Jn, Bandra, Santacruz, Jogeshwari, Borivali and Bhayandar railway stations of Western Rly.

On the solemn occasion of the 14th commemorative anniversary of this unfortunate day, Western Railway paid homage to the blast victims on 11th July 2020. Various senior Railway Officers placed wreaths on these stations as a mark of respect and paid tributes to the departed souls. Silence for two minutes was also observed on this occasion.

Amongst these were Smt Anitha P –  Assistant Commercial Manager at Matunga Road station; Shri Mithun G – Assistant Commercial Manager at Mahim station; Shri R. K. Sharma –Assistant Engineer at Bandra station; Ms Kanika Sankhle – Divisional Electrical Engineer at Santacruz station; Shri  Tripathi – Assistant Engineer (Estate) at Jogeshwari station; Shri Sunil Kumar – Assistant Engineer at Borivali station and Shri Rajveer – Assistant Traffic Manager at Bhayander station, paid their heartfelt tributes to the departed souls of victim passengers.

Shri G. V. L Satya Kumar – Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division also visited Matunga Road, Mahim and Bandra stations and paid homage to the departed souls of blast victims.
