
CRS inspection of 15.77-km Dekakund-Tanda Road section was completed on August 20, 2026. The section is a part of the Chhota Udepur-Dhar new line situated in Western Railway’s (WR) Vadodara Division. However, approval to commence train operations from the Commissioner of Railway Safety (Western Circle), E. Srinivas is awaited.
Once the CRS approval is received, WR will seek the approval of Railway Board to commence passenger train operations in this section. As on date, passenger services operate until Jobat railway station.
CRS inspection
During the inspection, the CRS first did a motor trolley inpection of the full section. On the way, the CRS inspected bridges, culverts, track geometry, ROBs, RUBs/ limited height subways and level crossings.
He then inspected the safety aspects of Tanda Road railway station. He inspected points and crossings in the yard, signalling system, electronic interlocking, and safety at Tanda Road railway station.
The CRS also conducted a comprehensive inspection of the relay room, the battery room, and the updated Station Working Rules, thoroughly evaluating all safety related parameters.
Then, the CRS conducted a speed trial on the electrified new railway line between Tanda Road and Dekakund stations. The inspection was done in the presence of Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), WR, Vineet Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Vadodara, Raju Bhadke and other senior officials.
