Andheri Station Gets New Skywalk on Southern End, Improves Access for Commuters

Western has commissioned the Andheri eastern side skywalk connecting the new southern end FOB. The work took nine months, according to the zone.

WR CPRO Sumit Thakur stated that the skywalk is 110 meters long and 6 meters wide and was constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.5 crores. Work on the skywalk began on 1st July 2020. The skywalk will provide east-west connectivity with a staircase to Platform Nos. 8/9 and Platform Nos. 6/7. The southern end FOB was commissioned in June 2020, is 92 metres long and 6 metres. wide. The total length of the FOB and skywalk together is 202 meters.

CPRO Thakur explained that the skywalk will help speed up the dispersal of commuters on the eastern side of Platform Nos. 8/9 during peak hours.
