ECR DDU Division: 3rd line between DDU Junction and Block Hut K commissioned

On August 25, 2026, third line section working was successfully commissioned in East Central Railway’s (ECR) Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Division jurisdiction between Block Hut-K (NCR) and DDU (ECR).

ECR’s jurisdiction ends just short of Block Hut K. This third line commissioning is part of the Prayagraj –DDU third line project. With this, more DOWN Trains (from Prayagraj to DDU) can be dispatched from Block Hut K (NCR) and received by DDU.

This capacity augmentation improves operational flexibility and line capacity, enhances reliability, and enables smooth and efficient handling of traffic in one of India’s busiest rail corridors.

New West Cabin panel

The salient features of this 3rd line commissioning are as follows:

  • A new cabin named New West Cabin/DDU (code NEWC) slotted with RRI Panel DDU has been commissioned.
  • Commissioning of Deltron make MUX for slotting in between DDU/RRI and NEWC/DDU.
  • Commissioning of SSBPAC (effectronics make) in between NEWC/DDU and Block Hut-K (NCR).
  • Installation of HASSDAC (Cell make) in between Block Hut-K (NCR) and NEWC/DDU.

  • Statcon IPS with 300 AH Battery bank.
  • This includes indoor circuit’s alteration in about 40 sheets of main RRI/DDU and alteration in Siemens RRI operation Panel.
  • Effetronics make Data Logger of 512/32 installed in NEWC/DDU and networking done.
  • Ring earthing as per RDSO TAN 3.1 with Class A protection also provided.
  • Other Equipments like ELD,fire alarm system, fuse auto changeover system etc also provided

ECR GM inspection

On August 21, 2026, General Manager ECR, Chhatrasal Singh, inspected the ECR jurisdiction portion under Prayagraj –DDU Junction third line works situated between DDU Junction and Jeonathpur (NCR) station. DDU Junction – Block Hut K section is situated between DDU Junction and Jeonathpur.
