Now, Ghaziabad- Saharanpur line is fully doubled and electrified

The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety Shailesh Kumar Pathak inspected the doubling and electrification works for the 28-km stretch between Deoband and Tapri on the Ghaziabad -Saharanpur line of Northern Railway’s (NR) Delhi division.

With the commissioning of this section, the entire Ghaziabad-Meerut-Saharanpur route has been doubled.The doubling will reduce the travel time as trains will no longer have to wait for a crossing.

Speed Trial

The CCRS conducted speed trial of up to 125 kmph done on the 28-km Deoband – Tapri section. Pathak conducted detailed safety inspections which included the quality of track, bridge and signalling works. He observed excellent riding quality at a speed of 125 kmph. 

He authorised track fitness at 110 kmph. For electric traction, the speed will be temporarily 75 kmph for a few days as some finishing works are in progress.
