SECR gets Rs 5050 crore as plan outlay

One of India’s newest railway zones situated in Bilaspur Chhattisgarh, South East Central Railway (SECR), has been allocated a plan outlay of Rs 5050 crore in the Union Budget for FY22.

 Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget had announced that detailed Project Reports for future DFC projects will be undertaken in the first phase.

These include the East Coast corridor from Kharagpur to Vijayawada, East-West Corridor from Bhusaval to Kharagpur to Dankuni and North-South corridor from Itarsi to Vijayawada.  

The East-West DFC is slated to pass through the main trunk route of SECR between Nagpur and Jharsuguda.

The details of projects which received significant allocation for the fiscal FY22 are as follows:-

New lines

  1. Dallirajahara- Jagdalpur
  2. Kharsia-Dharamjaigarh
  3. Gevra Road- Pendra Road

Gauge Conversion

  1. Chhindwara -Nagpur
  2. Chhindwara-Mandla Fort

Doubling/ Tripling/Quadrupling

  1. Gevra Road- Pendra Road doubling
  2. Champa-Jharsuguda 3rd line
  3. Jharsuguda -Bilaspur 4th line
  4. Rajnandgaon-Nagpur 3rd line
  5. Bilaspur-Uslapur flyover
  6.  Raipur-Titlagarh, including new line Mandir Hasaud-Naya Raipur(20 km) and new material modification for conversion of Raipur (Kendri)-Dhamtari and Abhanpur-Rajim 2’6” NG branch.
