SWR Installs Mask And Sanitizer Vending Machine At Bengaluru Railway Station

In its continued efforts at ensuring a COVID-19 free safe journey for passengers, Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway today (27.07.2020) formally inaugurated two Mask, Sanitizer and other PPE vending machines at KSR Bengaluru station.

The Vending machines were dedicated to the passengers by Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager and Ms. Kalyani Sethuraman, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Administration).

 The vending machines have been installed at vantage points for easy access to the passenger. One machine is available on Platform No 1 and the other at the Second Entry to the Station on Platform No 8.

These two vending machines are part of five such contactless vending machines being installed in Bengaluru Division, with two more to come up at Yesvantpur and one at Bengaluru Cantonment.

 Passengers can easily procure masks of different kinds, sanitizers of different quantities, gloves, etc from the machines, at reasonable rates, through contactless payment modes like Google Pay, Patym etc.

The machine is installed as a pilot project under New Innovative Non-fare Idea Scheme (NINFRIS) of Railways.

A contract has been made with M/s TC2 Labs India Pvt Ltd, for installation and maintenance of the machine.

Bengaluru Division has several more such COVID-19 preventive measures lined up to be implemented like Baggage sanitization, take-away bed rolls, Spit container vending machines etc
