This ROB is constructed in lieu of Level Crossing which has TVU of approximately 38,469 at a cost of only Rs.3.1 Crore. Low-Cost ROB has been constructed instead of conventional ROB which cost approximately Rs. 30 Crore. Low-cost ROB has advantage of lesser cost and quicker execution.

This ROB, will provide smooth and free movement to the public of the villages of Chikkanahalli and Anandur on one side and village of Krishnarajasagar on the other side.  This is a step towards Railways mission of eliminating Level Crossing gates and ensuring safety at level crossings.
