Tejas Rajdhanis, 99.3% Punctuality, 10,000 cr Revenue: Western Railway Lists 2021 Achievements

In a look back at 2021, Western Railway says it has achieved 99.3 per cent punctuality of trains and over 10,000 crores in originating revenue over the year.

Improvement in Passenger Services, Better Train Punctuality

  • Punctuality of trains improved to 99.3 from 95 percent in Mumbai suburban region
  • Dabhoi-Chandod-Kewadiya New Line Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2021
  • Gandhinagar Capital Railway Station Inaugurated by PM Modi
  • Bilimora – Waghai Narrow Gauge train services resumed with special Vistadome coach for tourists
  • Tejas rakes with smart features introduced on both Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani services
  • Pod Hotel retiring room services inaugurated at Western Railway’s Mumbai Central station
  • 15 coach Mumbai Local Train rakes introduced on slow lines
  • 8 new AC local rakes introduced, 20 AC services now operational.
  • All 44 Harbour Line services extended from Andheri to Goregaon.
  • 20 Foot Over Bridges, 24 escalators and 17 lifts commissioned

Freight Revenue Growth Measures by Western Railway

  • 10,000 crores in originating freight revenue achieved on 14th December 2021.
  • Special Textile Parcel Train with 25 NMG wagons was operated between Surat’s Udhna station and Patna/Muzaffarpur
  • 5,000 crores of originating freight revenue was achieved in the first six months of 2021.
  • Rs. 200 crores were earned from parcel traffic this year.
  • 3.29 lakh tons of freight loaded till date this calendar year
  • 226 trips of Kisan Rail services operated so far this year.
