Two Shramik Special Trains Start From Mysuru Division

Two Shramik Special- one from Ashokapuram (Mysuru) to Gorakhpur the other one from Kabakaputtur to Lucknow with 1520 passengers in each started their journey today. Both the trains have been scheduled as per the request of Government of Karnataka. Each train has 18 Sleeper and 2 general second class compartments. While the Gorakhpur bound train reaches the destination at 06:00 hrs on Monday (18.5.2020), the train to Lucknow is also scheduled to arrive at the termination station on the same day at 06:30 hrs.  

The Railways have made it mandatory for all the registered passengers to be ferried in Shramik Specials to wear face masks. For maintaining personal hygiene, adequate quantity of soap and sanitizer has been provided in all the compartments. Before boarding the passengers were explained about the precautions to be observed given the highly infectious nature of the disease. The passengers upon arrival at the station were guided to the coaches by the Railway staff after thermal temperature check. As per the extant guidelines issued by the Ministry of Railways, the empty rakes underwent sanitization following the standard protocols. A total of 6 Railway Protection Force personnel will be escorting each train, end-to-end, for coordinating with Government Railway Police/State Police of the respective State Governments in the path of the train for sorting out any logistic or law and order issues smoothly.

The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has made elaborate arrangements for supplying food and water to passengers of these trains both at the originating point as well as at en route stations working in tandem with other Railway Divisions.  
Senior Railway officials of Mysuru Division, were present both at Ashokapuram (Mysuru) and Kabakaputtur for supervising the arrangements along with their counterparts from the State Government. Earlier this week, a Shramik Special was dispatched from Kabakaputtur to Bapudham Motihari in Bihar, taking the total number of such trains originating on Mysuru Division to three.
