WCR: Bridge on the river Tamas to be completed by November 2021

The 45.07 metre bridge over the river Tamas situated between Sakariya and Hinauta stations on the Satna-Rewa section of West Central Railway (WCR) is set to be completed by next month-end (November 2021).

According to a statement by WCR, the bridge is made of open web girders with six spans costing Rs 30 crore.

It will expedite doubling works Satna and Rewa with doubling of 22 out of 50 kms already done WCR said. The sections doubled are Rewa-Turki (10 km), Satna-Kaima (6 km) and Kaima -Sakariya (6 km).

Satna – Rewa doubling is a part of a new line project between Lalitpur and Singrauli via Tikamgarh, Khajuraho, Satna and Rewa. Of this, the Khajuraho-Satna and the Rewa-Singrauli sections are yet to be completed. This fiscal, the rail budget allocated Rs 366 crore for the line under the head new lines for WCR.
