WCR instals colour light signalling on all of its routes

West Central Railway (WCR) has installed colour light signalling on all of its routes across its three divisions- Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota.

Known as multiple aspect colour lighting or MACL in signalling lingo, the milestone was achieved post completion of signalling works between Mehgaon and Nanwara in Jabalpur division according to a statement from WCR.

Presently, MACL has been installed at 1674 locations in Jabalpur division, 1481  in Bhopal division and  1755 locations in Kota division.

MACL signals provide better visibility to loco pilots during inclement/foggy weather thereby enhancing punctuality/safety in train operations.

They are less prone to signal failures and are easy to maintain when compared to semaphore signals.
