Starting 15th October, Western Railway will add another 194 local train services on its routes. This will raise the total number of services on WR from the existing 506 to 700.
The zone has also planned to restart AC locals. 10 airconditioned services are to be run from 15th October, almost 7 months after they were suspended with the start of the lockdown.
Out of 194 services, 49 will run during morning peak hours. The same number of services will be added during the evening peak hours, according to Western Railway CPRO Sumit Thakur.

Out of the total 194 increased services, 51 are on the Churchgate-Virar route, 96 on Borivali-Churchgate route, 9 on Bhayandar-Virar route, 12 on Nalasopara-Churchgate route, 9 on Churchgate-Bhayandar route, 2 on Vasai Road-Churchgate route, 8 on Bandra-Borivali route and 8 services on Churchgate-Bandra route.
These services continue to operate for the benefit of essential workers as classified by the government of Maharashtra. Only persons with the requisite passes will be allowed to board these trains.
