Commencement of fully and partially unreserved mail/express trains by Southern Railway

1. Train No. 06867 / 06868 Villupuram – Madurai – Villupuram Special trains

With a composition of Ten General Second Class Coaches and Two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches Train No. 06867 / 06868 Villupuram – Madurai – Villupuram Special trains will be run as a fully Un Reserved train with Mail / Express fare structure with effect from 17^th March, 2021.

2. Train No. 06087 / 06088 Arakkonam – Salem – Arakkonam MEMU

With a composition of Two First Class Sitting cum Second Class Sitting (Allotted for Ladies) and Six Second Class Sitting Coaches Train No. 06087 / 06088 Arakkonam – Salem – Arakkonam MEMU trains will be run as a fully Un Reserved train with Mail / Express fare structure with effect from 17^th March, 2021.

3. Train No. 06115 / 06116 Chennai Egmore – Puducherry – Chennai Egmore Special Trains 

With a composition of Two Second Class Chair Cars, Seven General Second Class Coaches, Two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches Train No. 06115 / 06116 Chennai Egmore – Puducherry – Chennai Egmore Special Trains will be run as partially reserved specials with Two Second Class Chair Cars as reserved accommodation and the rest of the coaches as unreserved accommodation with Mail / Express fare structure with effect from 17^th March, 2021.

4. Train No. 06327 / 06328 Punalur – Guruvayur – Punalur Special Trains 

With a composition of One AC Chair Car, Five Second Class Chair Cars, Eleven General Second Class Coaches, Two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches Train No. 06327 / 06328 Punalur – Guruvayur – Punalur  Special Trains will be run as partially reserved specials with One AC Chair Car, Two Second Class Chair Cars as reserved accommodation and the rest of the coaches as unreserved accommodations with Mail / Express fare structure with effect from 17^th March, 2021.

Booking Centres for Unreserved Ticketing System will be activated at all stopping stations already notified for the above trains duly enabling provision for issue of Season Tickets. Revalidation of Seasons Tickets shall be effect from 15.03.2021, the date of re-introduction of first unreserved trains post Covid. For example, if on the date of declaration of lockdown (24^th March 2020), 20 days were left in the Season Ticket, 20 days should be revalidated with effect from 15.03.2021 for that Ticket. This will be irrespective of the date of actual journey performed.
