Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) produced 800 locomotives – 600 at its Chittaranjan unit and 200 at its Dankuni Loco works during the financial year FY 26 (2025-26).
On March 31, 2026, a set of 5 new electric locomotives namely;
WAP-5 push-pull aerodynamic loco for Amrit Bharat trains (one pair);
WAG-9 Twin loco (one pair) and a WAG-9 HC loco including the 800th locomotive was ceremonially flagged off by Mohit Chandra, General Manager, CLW.
CLW had produced 700 locomotives at the end of last Financial Year FY 25 (2024-25) – 544 from Chittaranjan unit and 156 from Dankuni unit of CLW. Earlier that day, GM CLW, Mohit Chandra flagged off Dankuni unit’s 200th locomotive.
