NCR’s Palwal Mathura 4th line project completed

North Central Railway (NCR) completed the 4th line project between Palwal and Mathura on Friday .

This follows the inspection of Chhata- Bhuteshwar section of 4th line done by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (NE Circle) on Thursday and the subsequent authorisation for opening the section for goods and passenger traffic on Friday.

Sharad Mehta, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction ) NCR said  “CRS NE Circle inspected the 28.4 km, 4th line section  between Chhata – Bhuteshwar on Thursday and did speed trial at 110 kmph. There was no peak in speed trial and CRS was generally satisfied”

With the commissioning of the Chhata-Bhuteshwar section, Agra Division of NCR now has two lines each for up and down traffic resulting in the enhanced punctuality.

The project covers the districts of Palwal and  Mathura in the states of Haryana and UP respectively.

Mathura-Palwal 4th line project was sanctioned by Railway Board in 2015-16 at a cost of Rs 668.7 crore.

Palwal-Rundhi section was the first to be commissioned and opened for traffic on February 21,2019 followed by Rundhi-Sholaka, Sholaka-Hodal, and Hodal-Chhata sections were opened for traffic.

NCR construction organisation will now focus on Mathura-Jhansi 3rd line.
