ECR proposes to spend Rs.133.78 crore on expansion of workshops and production units in FY20

East Central Railway (ECR) plans to spend Rs 133.78 crore for its workshops and production units during FY20. Major works include setting up of a wagon periodic-overhauling (POH) workshop and the first phase of a freight bogie and coupler manufacturing plant for high capacity higher axle load wagons at Dalmianagar (Dehri-on-Sone).

Other projects include a new electric loco shed at Barauni holding 100 locos, increase in capacity of Gomoh’s electric loco shed from 120 to 175, repair of unloadable wagons and overhauling of BVZI wagons at Mughalsarai, coaching complex at Patliputra, periodic overhaul facility for wagons at Samastipur, new car shed for MEMUs at Gaya for 30 rakes, besides infrastructure for POH of LHB wheel sets at Harnaut carraige workshop.
