Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan throws train services out of gear- trains short terminated and route diverted

The Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan has badly affected train operations in the Kota division of West Central Railway leading to several train services being diverted / short terminated.

The focal point of the agitation is between the Sawai Madhopur and Bayana stations of the Kota division, where Gujjars demanding reservation have disrupted traffic by squatting on the tracks.

Trains have been re-routed via Jhansi, Bina, Bhopal bypass, Nagda and Ratlam (Nizamuddin Bandra Garib Rath, Nizamuddin – Kochuveli express, Mumbai Rajdhani, August Kranti Rajdhani, Avadh express, Paschim express, Pune –Nizamuddin express, Bandra-Kanpur, Bandra-Kanpur and Mumbai Central- Ferozepur express) said a statement from West Central Railway.

Another set of trains have been re-routed via Jaipur include Nizamuddin- Udaipur express, Kota Patna express, Bandra Dehradun express, Ranchi – Ajmer Express, Patliputra Udaipur express and the Asansol Bhavnagar express.

Passenger and Mail line EMUs between Sawai Madhopur and Bayana have been short–terminated as also the Kota Jan Shatabdi.
