The long-awaited Ameerpet-Hitec City section of the Hyderabad Metro will start operations on 20th March, the operator has announced.
The 10 km long stretch is to be inaugurated on 20th March by the Governor of Telangana, E.S.L Narasimhan at 9:15 am. The ceremony will take place at Ameerpet Metro station.
Originally expected to start around 20th of February, the Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) raised some objections on signalling and suggested fixes. Implementation of the CMRS’ recommendation was expected to take about a month.
