IR Budget FY27: New Additions To Traffic Facilities & Yard Re-modelling Projects

Indian Railways (IR) has identified several new traffic facilities / yard modifications / re-modelling / loop line construction projects to its existing list in the budget document for 2026-27. The zone-wise list of such projects are as follows:

Central Railway (CR)

Jalgaon – Yard remodeling
Bhusawal control office – Creation of new control board by splitting up BSl-BD section
Bhusawal coaching complex – Yard remodelling for augmentation of facilities
Jalamb station – Yard remodeling for rectification of defective layout
Dhule Station – Extension of passenger platform and stabling line
Provision of pedestrian underpasses (10 Nos) on BSL-KNW & BSL-BD sections
Provision of pedestrian underpasses (11 Nos) on IGP-BSL & MMR-ANK sections
Ghoti – Extension of UP & DN loop line to achieve 753 M CSR
Maheji – Extension of Up & DN loop line to achieve 753 M CSR
Waghoda – Extension of Up and DN loop line to achieve 753 M CSR
Nasik – Provision of two stabling lines in DN direction
Odha – Yard remodeling for provision of Long Haul facilities
Walgaon station – Yard remodelling for provision of second Up & DN loop (800 M CSR)
Chandur Bazar station – Yard remodelling for provision of second Up & DN loop (800 M CSR)
Devlali station – Yard remodelling for provision of additional platforms for Kumbh Mela 2027
Igatpuri – Extension of platform lines No 1, 2, 3 & 4
Bhivandi Road – New loop line to deal full rake parcel (710 m)

Similiguda–Karakavalasa – Yard modifications for Twin Single Line working

East Central Railway (ECR)

Bihta – Yard remodelling (one full-length running line, one full-length stabling line, shunting neck)

Rakhitpur – Provision of one additional loop for development of freight terminal

Govind Garh – Provision of Goods Siding with connecting line no. 3 at both ends
Prayagraj Division – Conversion of K-point into motor operated points
Prayagraj Division – Signalling and OHE work for connectivity between Shivala Tehu and New Barahan
New Makkhanpur – Yard remodelling
Bijauli, Bhandai & Mata Tila – Additional loop lines

Subhagpur – Brakevan reversal siding
Mailani – Provision of two stabling lines (700m each) by modifying the 140-ton crane siding
Bakshi ka Talab – Provision of line no-4 with rail level Goods platform
Bindaura & Chureb – Provision of UP extended loop lines
Motiganj – Provision of DN extended loop line
LJN Division – Modification and shifting work of Operations and Traffic Control Office
Tinich – Provision of UP & DN extended loop lines
BBK-BRCK section – Construction of pathway from Home signal to end of platform

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR)

Jalpaiguri Road-Abhayapuri – Electrical TRD work in-connection with OHE modification for DSDC movement
Deotala, Gangarampur & Rampur Bazar – Conversion of D-class stations to B-class
New Jalpaiguri – Modification and requirement at station & yard
KIR division – Electrical TRD work to remove OHE infringement of DSDC at OLS
Senchoa & Haibargaon – Development of goods circulating area & approach road

Northern Railway (NR)

Uchana – Extension of length of loop lines
Rohtak-Panipat – Provision of a new crossing station between ROK-GHNA
Anand Vihar (ANVT) – Extension of platform no. 9 & 2 and construction of shunting neck
Ghaziabad (GZB) – Addition & Alteration in yard in connection with 3rd & 4th line connectivity
Widening of PFs at CPYZ & DLI ends including track slewing and two stabling lines at GZB
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) – IBS between SVDK-Chakarwahal
RMJK – Over run proposed to facilitate simultaneous reception
Giani Zail Singh Sandhwa – Removal of PSR and facilitating simultaneous reception in GZS yard
Baramulla – Provision of one additional loop line
Provision of safety fencing (Double W Type) in KUF-AMG and MB-NBD sections
Removal of infringements for operation of higher MMD transportation products including DSDC
Connectivity of Yara fertiliser siding from BBA loop line

North Western Railway (NWR)

Development of BPKH into B class yard with 2 running lines & 4 non-interlocked stabling lines
Chittaurgarh-Udaipur City – Provision of one addl. loop line each at 4 stations (PMO, KIN, BSJ, BIML)
Hisar – Linking of Hisar Yard with RPHR-STD line to utilize as a double line temporarily
Hisar – Provision of stabling lines, marshalling line, and sick/fit coaches line
Sriganganagar – Expansion of traffic facilities
Lalgarh – Shifting of ARF at LGH yard to facilitate terminal operations
BNWS – Additional loop line
Kanakpura – Line no 1 and 2 common loop with reception/dispatch facility and siding
Nizampur & Khori – Goods shed development and siding extensions
Jaipur – Increased the CSR of Line No. 2 with PF up to 700 meters

South Central Railway (SCR)

Lingiri-Saidapur – Provision of IB signals on Up and Dn lines
Provision of 6 IB signals from DMM to KLU in GY-DMM section
Safety fencing/boundary wall provisions across multiple sections (RU-KDP, GDR-TPTY, PMT-KPU, CGTA-WD, PGDP-NDKD, VJA-GNT, TEL-VJA, KZJ-KI, BPQ-KZJ, ASAF-PTKP, MLMG-KI, KZJ-MLMG)

Palakkad (PGTN) – Provision of one camtech pit line, two stabling lines, shunting neck, sick lines, and yard modifications
Mangalore Central – Provision of new 24 coach pit line of CAMTEC standards
Walayar-Ettimada & Elattur-Quilandi – Provision of IB signals
Tiruchchirappalli (TPT) – Provision of additional loop on Up line as common loop
