
Indian Railways (IR) has identified several new projects for construction of new lines/doubling/gauge conversion and multi-tracking to its existing list in the budget document for 2026-27. The zone-wise list of such projects are as follows:

Central Railway (CR)
- Rahuri–Shani Shignapur New Line (21.84 km)
- Pachora–Jamner with extension upto Malkapur (narrow gauge to broad gauge conversion listed under New Lines) (84 km)
- Miraj Chord line (1.73 Km)
- Additional Hotgi Byepass line (5.85 Km)
- Doubling between Puntamba-Sainagar Shirdi (16.50 km)
- Multitracking of Panvel-Chouk section (17.28 km) Panvel Chord Lines between Panvel-Somtane and Panvel-Chikhli (7.54 Km)

East Coast Railway (ECoR)
(Note: These appear in the 2026-27 list but were missing from the 2025-26 excerpt, despite carrying a 2023-24 PB tag)
- Mahanadi Coal Railway Limited Inner Corridor phase-I Doubling (10.93 km)
- Flyover at Khurda Road for trains from Puri end to connect the DN grid at Khurda Road (17.41 km)
