Molasses, Sugar and Rice Haulage Business Bagged By NR’s Delhi, Lucknow Division

A rake of 48 BTPN wagons was loaded with Molasses from Gohana in Haryana to Khurda Rd in Odisha on 12th September 2020.

This was the first time molasses was loaded by train from the location in 2 years. The loading was done under Delhi division of Northern Railway.

Similarly, Lucknow division of NR has also bagged the first ever shipment of rice from Mohanlalganj to Azara while Balrampur Chini loaded its first ever sugar consignment from Faizabad to Dankuni in West Bengal.

These commodities were normally transported by road.

The seventh Vyapar Mala of Northern Railway run by combining 21 wagons of wheat from Sultanpur-Salchhapra and De-oiled cake from Faizabad-Changrabandha.

Business Development Units at Northern Railway have been working with businesses to draw business to rail transport. The outreach is part of Indian Railways’ efforts to plug the massive gap in revenues expected this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown.
