Moved 6.4 Lakh Wagons Since Lockdown, Says Central Railway

Central Railway says it has moved various kinds of goods in over 6.4 lakh wagons and 13,400 trains in the past 7 months upto 9th November 2020.

At an average of 2,770 wagons per day, Central Railway has loaded 2.5 lakh wagons of coal, 1.95 lakh container wagons and almost 43 thousand cement wagons. Steel, foodgrains, fertilizer and various other commodities took up the rest.

Central Railway has also transported 75,282 tonnes of essential commodities like medicine and pharma products, e-commerce items, mail and other hard parcels through 597 timetabled parcel trains and 49,203 tonnes through parcel special trains.

The Kisan Rail service operated by the zone has carried over 12,400 tons of agriculture produce so far, a statement from the zone has claimed. Perishables like pomegranate, capsicum, green chilli, ginger, lemon, iced fish and other parcels have been transported by this service.

Kisan Rail services on CR operate between Devlali and Muzaffarpur (tri-weekly), Nagpur and Adarsh Nagar Delhi (weekly) and link services between Sangola and Manmad (tri-weekly) and Sangola and Secunderabad (weekly).
