North Central Railway (NCR) successfully commissioned automatic block signalling in two sections of the Naini-Manikpur line situated in Prayagraj division. They are Shankargarh–Majhiari and Majhiari–Bargarh—covering a total of 16.2 km.

The technical work was executed during a planned traffic block, and train services were promptly restored upon completion. This signalling allows for the safe movement of multiple trains in the same direction with precise spacing besides increasing throughput significantly.

Benefits of Automatic Block Signalling:
Higher Line Capacity: Enables the section to handle a larger volume of trains.
Shorter Headway: Allows trains to run closer together safely, reducing waiting times.
Improved Punctuality: Facilitates smoother traffic regulation and better adherence to schedules.
Enhanced Safety: Features automatic train separation, reducing the risk of human error.
Peak-Hour Efficiency: Provides the agility needed to handle heavy traffic during peak periods.
Reduced Detention: Minimizes the time trains spend waiting for track clearance.
