NCR Improves Freight Earnings in August 2020 With Loading From New Segments

North Central Railway has achieved loading of 7.8 lakhs ton of freight till 20th of August-20 as compared to 7.6 Lakh tons in the same period of August-19, according to a statement from the zone.

The zone has added loading of new types of goods. This includes one rake of maize, three rakes of De-oiled cake (DOC), 6.5 rakes of pulses, 18 petroleum rakes from HPTR siding in Jhansi division to Varanasi, 06 additional container rakes from Dadri etc.

These helped NCR to earn freight revenue of Rs.505.80 crores in April to July-20 registering plus Rs. 30.54 Crores over the same period of last year.

Business Development Units Line Up New Segments

NCR expressed hope that the Business Development Units will soon bag more traffic. In the pipeline are orders for fertilizer loading from Jhansi and Fatehpur, new Container traffic from Hind terminal Kanpur, 15-20 rakes loading of cement from Ultratech Bara, 2 rakes edible oil from Morena/ Rayaru, ballast loading from Meja, cement loading from Shnakargarh and Bevra, Fly ash loading from PPGS Bara, sand loading from Sankargarh, food grain loading from Teekamgarh and so on.

Increasing Parcel Traffic

Additional stoppages have been given at Mathura, Gwalior and Aligarh stations in time-tabled parcel trains running in New Delhi- Howrah new Delhi- Mumbai/ Chennai routes. This is to help increase parcel traffic, according to NCR.

Prayagraj Chheoki station opened for inward parcels and a Kisan Rail service has been provided stoppages at Manikpur and Prayagraj Cheeoki stations for ease of transportation of fruits and vegetables.

One high capacity parcel van has also been attached in special train no 02308 between Kanpur- Howrah for ease of parcel transport from Kanpur, Prayagraj and Mirzapur stations.

Leased parcel service already exists in 14 trains and shall be operative from the date of restoration of these trains. The service is also being extended in Prayagraj Jn-New Delhi Humsafar express and Kanpur- Durag Betwa Express.
