Indian Railways will build a new electric loco shed at East Central Railway in Barauni with a holding capacity of 100 locos. The sanctioned capital expenditure (capex) for the shed is Rs 78.5 crore. The shed will home electric locos for trains going towards the north east.
In addition the loco holding capacity of the electric loco shed at Gomoh Jn is being increased to 175 locos ( from 120) at a sanctioned cost of Rs 14.25 crore.
